Protecting minors on Linework
Linework is used in more than 126 countries. When a minor uses the app we apply stricter rules: in every country, whichever is more protective between local law and the Linework standard.
- Parents firstBelow the age set in your country, a minor uses Linework only together with a parent.
- No contact from strangersAn adult cannot message a minor without the parent’s approval.
- No money, no targeted adsWallet, bank, purchases and profiled ads are closed to minors.
Minimum age
Who can use Linework
The age to use Linework on your own is the age of digital consent in the country where you live. Below that age a parent is required; under 13 never alone, in any country.
| Age | What applies |
|---|---|
| Under 13 | Only with a parent who has linked and verified their own account. Where the law bans social media below a certain age, the account is not activated. |
| From 13 to the age of consent in your country (e.g. 14 in Italy, 16 in Germany) | Only with a linked parent. |
| Up to 17 | Protected account: all the rules below apply until 18. |
| 18 and over | Standard account. |
If the country is unknown we apply 16. If the age is in doubt we may ask for a verification.
